Share your Wi-Fi network safely without typing passwords

A Wi-Fi QR code encodes your network name (SSID), encryption protocol (WPA/WPA2/WPA3, WEP, or open), and password using the standard WIFI:S:<SSID>;T:<WEP|WPA|nopass>;P:<PASSWORD>;H:<true|false>;; schema recognized natively by iOS Camera and Android Camera apps. Because CodeKit generates the QR image entirely on your device using client-side JavaScript, your Wi-Fi password is never transmitted over the internet or stored on any external server.

Zero Server Uploads for Passwords

Your Wi-Fi password stays 100% inside your browser tab—never sent to any backend API or database.

Works Natively on iPhone & Android

Anyone with iOS 11+ or Android 10+ can simply point their default camera app at the code and tap 'Join Network'.

Supports Hidden SSIDs & WPA/WPA2/WPA3

Compatible with standard home routers, enterprise guest networks, Café hotspots, and hidden SSID configurations.

How to create a Wi-Fi QR code

  1. 1Enter your Network Name (SSID)

Type the exact name of your Wi-Fi network (case-sensitive). Toggle 'Hidden network' if your router does not broadcast its SSID.

  2. 2Enter your Wi-Fi password & security type

Type your Wi-Fi password and keep 'WPA' selected for modern WPA2/WPA3 routers (or choose WEP / None).

  3. 3Download and print your Wi-Fi card

Export your Wi-Fi QR code as a crisp PNG or SVG to frame for guests, print on cafe tables, or add to Airbnb welcome guides.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to put my Wi-Fi password into this generator?

Yes. CodeKit runs 100% client-side in your web browser. You can even disconnect from the internet after loading this page and generate your Wi-Fi QR code completely offline.

Does the Wi-Fi QR code work with WPA3 routers?

Yes. Selecting the 'WPA' option works for WPA, WPA2, and WPA3-Personal (SAE transition) networks on both iOS and Android devices.

What happens if I change my Wi-Fi password later?

Because a Wi-Fi QR code is static and encodes the password directly, you will need to generate and print a new QR code if you change your router's SSID or password.

Why does my phone say 'Unable to join network' after scanning?

Wi-Fi network names (SSIDs) and passwords are case-sensitive. Double-check capital letters, trailing spaces, and whether your network is 2.4GHz/5GHz compatible with the scanning phone.
